Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Set To Mark 20th Coronation Anniversary With Thirteen -Day Grand Celebration

The  great and ancient Okpe Kingdom is aglow with excitement as preparations reach a fever pitch for the historic 20th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Orhue I, CFR, mni, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom. Commencing on Friday, November 13 and running through Wednesday, November 25, the thirteen-day extravaganza will celebrate two decades of visionary leadership, peace, cultural renaissance, and unprecedented development under the revered monarch's reign.

The milestone anniversary brings together sons, daughters, and well-wishers of the Okpe heritage from across the globe to honor a monarch whose commitment to traditional values and national progress has remained unwavering.

According to an official statement detailing the programme jointly signed and released by Chief Michael Affe JP, Unuokpe of Okpe Kingdom & Chairman, 20th Coronation Anniversary Committee, and Chief Akpobecha Napoleon, Chairman, Publicity Sub-Committee, 20th Coronation Anniversary Committee, the carefully curated itinerary blends spiritual reflection, community engagement, cultural heritage, and modern festivities:

Spiritual Foundation: 

The anniversary will open with a solemn, kingdom-wide prayer session led by the Okpe Christian Assembly, committing the celebrations and the royal family into divine hands of God Almighty.

Media Briefing: Chief Okakuro Mike Affe JP, the Unu-Okpe of Okpe Kingdom and Chairman of the 20th Coronation Anniversary Committee, will host an official press briefing to outline the vision and details of the landmark celebration.

HRM’s Golf Tournament: 

Golf enthusiasts and dignitaries will tee off in a special tournament organized in honor of the royal father, showcasing sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Chieftaincy Seminar: A specialized seminar tailored for prospective Ekokuro and Ehowore titleholders, emphasizing leadership ethics, cultural preservation, and the responsibilities of traditional titles within the Okpe Kingdom.

Awards and Recognition: A prestigious gala night dedicated to celebrating distinguished sons and daughters of Okpe Kingdom who have excelled in their various fields and contributed significantly to community development.

Youth & Sports: An energetic football competition designed to foster unity, engage the youth, and celebrate grassroots athletic talent within the kingdom.

Grand Finale & Cultural Displays: A series of rich cultural pageants, traditional dances, and homage-paying ceremonies culminating in a grand reception on Wednesday, November 25.

PRE-ANNIVERSARY TOUR

In preparation for this celebration, His Majesty, from his palace  at  Orerokpe, has been conducting a kingdom-wide familiarization tour to Amukpe, Aragba, Aghalokpe, Ugborhen, Ozue, Elume, Sapele, Ugolo and Emereje districts to interact with his subjects and hear their challenges in person 


During that tour, the Orodje reiterated his fatherly charge: that our people should stop the indiscriminate sale of ancestral lands and embrace leasing, and shun hard drugs, to secure the future of Okpe land.


To this end, the  Central Anniversary Committee invites all indigenes, friends of the Okpe Kingdom, corporate bodies, and the general public to join in celebrating two glorious decades of peace, progress, and regal dignity under the stewardship of HRM Orhue I.
