MGVOWGAS Gives PTI Vote of Confidence After Giving Permanent Employment to Eight Graduates of The lnstitute
MGVOWGAS Limited has given the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun, a powerful vote of confidence, declaring that the institution is producing graduates with the technical competence, character and professional discipline required to thrive in today's competitive workplace.
The commendation came after eight PTI graduates successfully completed a one-year Graduate Trainee Programme with MGVOWGAS and were subsequently confirmed as full-time employees of the company.
In a letter dated May 19, 2026, addressed to the Registrar of PTI and copied for the attention of Dr. (Mrs.) Tina O. Isichei, the company praised the Institute for the exceptional quality of its graduates.
The company had requested graduate trainees from PTI in August 2024, following which the Institute recommended eight graduates for the programme.
They were Jeghwo David Oghenebrohien, Enubuzor Chinedu John, Ochei Johnson Onyedikachi, Ugochukwu Makua Divine, Ibibo Kombo Bernard, Edokpolor Osa-Osenimwen Moses, Ikechukwu Faith Adaugo and Harry Faith Sokiepirim.
After one year of training and workplace engagement, all eight were confirmed as permanent members of the company's workforce.
MGVOWGAS attributed the decision to their outstanding performance, conduct, competence and contribution to the organisation.
The company said the graduates displayed strong technical knowledge and intellectual capacity, while also demonstrating resilience, professionalism, integrity, discipline, adaptability and admirable character.
The company’s assessment is particularly significant because the graduates were evaluated within an actual industrial environment rather than solely through academic examinations.
Their successful transition into full-time employment therefore provides practical evidence of their ability to apply their training to real-world professional responsibilities.
MGVOWGAS said the performance of the graduates "speaks volumes" about the quality of education, values and institutional grooming provided by PTI.
The company further praised the Institute for producing well-rounded professionals rather than graduates whose qualifications exist only on paper.
According to the company, PTI is contributing to the development of a workforce equipped with the competence and mindset required to meet the demands of modern industry.
It described the Institute's contribution as a meaningful investment in Nigeria's future workforce, industry professionals and leaders.
The commendation also underscores the importance of specialised technical institutions in preparing young Nigerians for employment opportunities in the energy and industrial sectors.
At a time when employers increasingly demand practical skills alongside academic qualifications, the experience of the eight PTI graduates demonstrates the value of structured graduate trainee programmes and strong industry-academic relationships.
MGVOWGAS expressed appreciation to PTI for its commitment to excellence and capacity development and indicated its desire to sustain and strengthen the relationship between both organisations.
The development is consequently more than a commendation of eight graduates. It is a significant industry endorsement of PTI's role in producing competent Nigerian professionals capable of making an immediate contribution to the workplace.
