The National Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Ambassador (Dr.) Godknows Boladei Igali, has declared that former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has written his name in gold in the history of the state and the Niger Delta through his service to God and humanity.

Dr Igali the PANDEF National Chairman

made the declaration in a condolence letter addressed to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, following the death of the former governor.

In the letter dated October 19, 2026, the PANDEF chairman described Uduaghan as an exceptional individual whose commitment to the people of Delta State remained unquestionable.

He said the deceased's contributions to governance and peacebuilding, particularly during the period of heightened militancy in the Niger Delta, had secured him a lasting place in the region's history.

Dr Igali recalled that Uduaghan served Delta State as Secretary to the State Government before becoming governor, adding that the former leader played a significant role in efforts to promote peace and stability in the oil-producing region.

The PANDEF National Chairman also highlighted his personal relationship with the late governor, revealing that both men served as secretaries to their respective state governments simultaneously and maintained a cordial relationship until his death.

He said Uduaghan's passing was a major loss to Delta State, the Niger Delta and the country at large.

Igali expressed the hope that the former governor's legacy would endure through the lives he touched and the contributions he made during his years of public service.

Drawing inspiration from the Christian faith, he quoted Philippians 4:7, praying that the peace of God would sustain the hearts and minds of the bereaved.

He also asked Governor Oborevwori to convey his condolences to the Uduaghan family and the people of Delta State.

The PANDEF Chairman concluded by praying that the late former governor would find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.
