Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his conferment with the prestigious Christian Icon Award by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

General Oloye described the award as a significant recognition of the Governor’s commitment to public service, Christian values, peace, compassion and responsible leadership, noting that the honour highlights the importance of faith, integrity and a good conscience in the discharge of public responsibilities.

According to him, the recognition is not only a moment of pride for the Governor but also an encouragement to leaders and public officeholders to embrace humility, selflessness, fairness and the fear of God in their service to humanity.

He noted that leadership goes beyond occupying public office, stressing that its true essence lies in the ability to serve the people with sincerity, promote peaceful coexistence and create opportunities that improve the lives of citizens.

General Oloye further stated that the recognition by CAN underscores the enduring relevance of Christian principles in governance, particularly the values of love, sacrifice, justice, accountability and concern for the welfare of the people.

He commended Governor Oborevwori for the honour and expressed optimism that the recognition would further inspire him to sustain his administration’s commitment to peace, unity, development and the welfare of Deltans.

He urged Christians, political leaders, traditional institutions, youths and other stakeholders to draw inspiration from the values associated with the award by promoting unity, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence across the state.

General Oloye concluded by praying for God’s continued wisdom, strength and grace upon Governor Oborevwori as he steers the affairs of Delta State, expressing confidence that the Christian Icon Award would serve as a further call to higher responsibility, greater compassion and dedicated service to humanity.
