LAGOS

It was a gathering of the crème de la crème of Nigerian society as governors, former governors, federal lawmakers, traditional rulers, military officers, captains of industry and other eminent personalities stormed Lagos on September 3 and 5, 2026, for the lavish wedding ceremonies of Dr. Oghenekome Egukawhore, son of prominent Niger-Delta leader and Chairman of Dewayles Group of Companies, High Chief Dr. Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP), FCILG.

The colourful ceremonies brought together an impressive array of political, business, traditional and professional leaders who came to celebrate the union of Dr. Oghenekome Egukawhore and his heartthrob, former Miss Stephanie Spencer, now Mrs. Stephanie Egukawhore.

The occasion was a spectacular celebration of love, culture, class and family tradition, with Lagos providing the setting for a memorable gathering of distinguished personalities from across Nigeria and beyond.

Among the high-profile guests were Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori; Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri; Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji; Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe, PhD; and a representative of the Ondo State Governor.

Also present was former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, while the Federal Government was represented by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, PhD.

The presence of the political heavyweights added significant colour and prestige to the celebration, as the dignitaries joined family members, friends and associates in celebrating the newlyweds.

The wedding also attracted serving and former senators, members of the House of Representatives, members of State Houses of Assembly, serving and former commissioners, as well as serving and former local government council chairmen from different parts of Nigeria.

The corporate and business community was not left out, as bank chairmen, chief executive officers, managing directors, captains of industry and leading members of the oil and gas sector graced the occasion.

Senior military officers, both serving and retired, also attended, alongside prominent professionals and business leaders whose presence further underscored the importance of the occasion.

Traditional rulers, royal fathers and respected chiefs, particularly from Delta, Bayelsa and Ekiti states, also converged on Lagos to honour the Egukawhore family and celebrate with the young couple.

Beyond the array of dignitaries, the ceremonies offered a unique opportunity for families, friends, associates and well-wishers to reunite and share in the joy of the occasion.

The atmosphere was electric throughout the celebrations, with music, dancing, cultural displays and entertainment adding glamour to the wedding.

The newlyweds, Dr. Oghenekome and Mrs. Stephanie Egukawhore, were at the centre of the celebration, radiating happiness as they welcomed their guests and formally commenced a new chapter of their lives together.

For High Chief Dr. Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP), FCILG, the wedding was more than a family celebration; it was a moment of immense personal joy and fulfilment.

As Chairman of Dewayles Group of Companies and a respected Niger-Delta leader, High Chief Wayles Egukawhore has established relationships spanning political, business, traditional, professional and social circles.

The calibre of personalities who travelled to Lagos to celebrate with him and his family reflected the breadth of those relationships.

The proud father was visibly elated throughout the celebrations, with his energetic dancing steps becoming one of the talking points of the occasion.

His spirited performance on the dance floor attracted applause and admiration from guests, as he celebrated his son's entry into marital life.

In his appreciation remarks, High Chief Egukawhore expressed profound gratitude to the governors, former governor, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, serving and former senators, members of the National and State Assemblies, senior military officers, traditional rulers, captains of industry, business leaders, family members, friends and well-wishers who honoured his invitation.

He particularly appreciated guests who travelled from different parts of Nigeria and beyond to celebrate the union of his son and daughter-in-law.

The High Chief prayed for God's continued guidance, protection and blessings upon all those who attended the ceremonies, as well as safe journeys back to their various destinations.

The lavish celebrations have therefore etched another memorable chapter in the history of the Egukawhore family, while the union of Dr. Oghenekome and Mrs. Stephanie Egukawhore marks the beginning of a new marital journey filled with love, hope and family blessings.
