Renowned broadcaster and public affairs commentator, Godwin Orhadahwe PhD, has thrown his weight behind the aspiration of Chief Comrade Sheriff Mulade to represent Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, declaring that the former’s impressive record of grassroots intervention has established him as a candidate with the capacity, experience and tested commitment required to give the constituency a stronger voice at the National Assembly.

Orhadahwe, a retired but not tired broadcaster, made the declaration while delivering a comprehensive citation on Mulade at the campaign flag-off ceremony held after the presentation of the latter’s Certificate of Return as the National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election.

In a powerful assessment of Mulade’s antecedents, the veteran broadcaster painted a picture of a politician whose claim to public service predates the current political season, pointing to what he described as a remarkable trail of interventions in community development, education, infrastructure, sports, peace-building and humanitarian assistance.

He said Mulade's record provides compelling evidence that his aspiration to represent Warri Federal Constituency is not built merely on political promises, but on years of practical engagement with the people.

Orhadahwe declared that Mulade has excellent proven potential to represent the good people of Warri Federal Constituency, insisting that the electorate should judge political aspirants by what they have done for the people rather than by the volume of promises made during electioneering.

The broadcaster particularly highlighted Mulade’s contributions to community development and infrastructure provision, describing such interventions as evidence of his understanding of the needs of grassroots communities.

He also drew attention to Mulade’s investment in the educational development of young people through scholarship awards and other forms of educational assistance.

According to him, supporting the education of young people is one of the most enduring forms of community development because it creates opportunities that can transform not only individuals but entire families and communities.

Orhadahwe further cited Mulade’s contributions to sports development, noting that his support for sporting activities had helped provide platforms through which young people could discover, develop and showcase their talents.

He said Mulade’s involvement in peace and unity rallies equally demonstrated his recognition of the importance of peaceful coexistence among the diverse ethnic and cultural groups that make up Warri Federal Constituency.
The veteran broadcaster did not stop at political and developmental interventions.

He recalled Mulade’s humanitarian activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly his distribution of palliatives to vulnerable members of society at a period when many families faced severe economic hardship.

He also listed Mulade’s support for persons living with disabilities, donation of wheelchairs, and assistance to elderly people with feeding and medical needs, describing the interventions as manifestations of a leadership philosophy centred on humanity and compassion.

For Orhadahwe, these interventions constitute an important political scorecard that the electorate should consider as the 2027 election approaches.

He argued that a representative who understands the pains, aspirations and challenges of the people at the grassroots would be better positioned to articulate their interests at the federal level.

He said: “Chief Comrade Sheriff Mulade has excellent proven potential to represent the good people of Warri Federal Constituency. His records in community development, education, infrastructure, sports, peace and unity, as well as humanitarian services, speak volumes about his capacity and commitment to the people.”

The veteran broadcaster urged the people of Warri Federal Constituency to look beyond political rhetoric and carefully examine the antecedents of those seeking their mandate.

He maintained that the 2027 election should be about competence, credibility, capacity and demonstrable commitment to the people, rather than empty promises.

He further expressed confidence that Mulade, if elected, would bring his grassroots experience and developmental orientation to legislative representation, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, education, infrastructure, environmental protection, human capital development, peace-building and inclusive development.

The endorsement adds a significant dimension to the emerging political contest for Warri Federal Constituency, coming from a respected broadcaster who used the occasion not merely to praise Mulade but to place his candidacy against the backdrop of his documented community and humanitarian interventions.

As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum, the battle for Warri Federal Constituency is expected to increasingly revolve around the records, programmes, personalities and capacity of the various candidates seeking the mandate of the people.

For supporters of Mulade, however, Orhadahwe’s assessment reinforces their argument that the NDP candidate is coming into the contest with a political credential rooted not only in ambition, but in a history of grassroots engagement and service to humanity.

The message from the veteran broadcaster was therefore unmistakable: for Warri Federal Constituency, the 2027 contest should be a referendum on proven service, capacity and the ability to transform grassroots experience into effective representation at the National Assembly. The best man to take the people's mandate for the WARRI Federal constituency now is Chief Comrade Sheriff Mulade, he concluded.
