WARRI — President General of the Uvwie Improvement Union and member of the Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Committee,

High Chief Hope Erute, has declared that the just-concluded Delta State Economic and Investment Summit has further reinforced Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori's determination to transform Delta into one of Nigeria's foremost investment and industrial hubs through strategic investments in energy and agribusiness.

Erute, in a statement made available to journalists, described the summit as another defining milestone in the Oborevwori administration's economic transformation agenda, saying it successfully shifted public attention from conventional infrastructure development to sectors capable of delivering long-term industrial growth, economic diversification and sustainable prosperity.

According to him, while Governor Oborevwori has earned widespread acclaim for his massive investments in roads, bridges and flyover projects across the state under the MORE Agenda, the decision to place the energy sector at the centre of the state's investment drive demonstrates visionary leadership and a clear understanding of Delta's comparative economic advantage.

"The Governor has once again shown that governance is about planning beyond the present.

His administration has already distinguished itself through remarkable infrastructure development, and the renewed emphasis on the energy sector signals the beginning of another phase of industrial and economic expansion. Knowing Governor Oborevwori's passion for delivering on his promises, I have every confidence that the energy sector will witness the same level of commitment and success," Erute said.

The community leader also applauded the prominence accorded agriculture and agribusiness during the summit, describing the sector as indispensable to the state's economic diversification strategy and food security agenda.

He particularly commended the participation of renowned agricultural entrepreneur Idama Amurun, noting that the presentation underscored the enormous investment opportunities available in commercial agriculture, agro-processing and value-chain development.

According to Erute, the decision to showcase indigenous entrepreneurs reflects the state government's resolve to stimulate private sector participation, encourage innovation and build a resilient economy that is less dependent on crude oil revenues.

He observed that increased investment in agriculture would not only enhance food production but also create thousands of jobs for youths and women, strengthen rural economies and boost internally generated revenue.

Describing the summit as one of the most productive economic engagements organised by the present administration, Erute said the discussions, investment proposals and policy direction unveiled during the event have laid a solid foundation for accelerated industrialisation and inclusive economic growth.
