PRESS STATEMENT RE: DISCLAIMER OF ILLEGAL AGM COMMITTEE PURPORTEDLY SET UP BY A SELF-ACCLAIMED ACTING CHAIRMAN, MR. PAUL EBIYON, AND HIS COHORTS FROM THE OFFICE OF THE HOST COMMUNITIES OF NIGERIA PRODUCING OIL AND GAS (HOSTCOM), DELTA STATE CHAPTER No. 11 Uti Street, Off PTI Road, Effurun, Delta State.
The attention of the leadership of the various ethnic nationalities within the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), Delta State Chapter, has been drawn to a purported AGM Committee allegedly constituted by certain dissident individuals led by Mr. Paul Ebiyon and his associates at the Ughelli Community Town Hall.
We wish to categorically state that the
so called AGM Committee is illegal, unauthorized, and does not in any way represent the position, authority, or leadership of HOSTCOM Delta State Chapter.
For the avoidance of doubt, HOSTCOM Delta State Chapter remains under the duly recognized leadership of Comrade Chief Sunday Ndidi Enujeke as Chairman and High Comrade Joseph Lamienghan as Secretary.
At no time did the legitimate leadership of HOSTCOM authorize, approve, or mandate the setting up of any AGM Committee at the Ughelli Community Town Hall or anywhere else. Consequently, the purported committee remains null, void, and of no legal effect.
The so-called AGM Committee is nothing more than a deliberate attempt by disgruntled elements and troublemakers to create confusion, to mislead the public, and to promote a false narrative of factionalized leadership within HOSTCOM Delta State Chapter.
Their actions amount to impersonation and a calculated attempt to tarnish the good image, integrity, and credibility of HOSTCOM.
We therefore use this medium to reaffirm that HOSTCOM Delta State Chapter remains united, indivisible, and fully committed to protecting and promoting the collective interests of oil and gas host communities across Delta State.
Furthermore, the leaders of the various ethnic nationalities within HOSTCOM Delta State hereby pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of Comrade Chief Sunday Ndidi Enujeke and High Comrade Joseph Lamienghan in recognition of their commitment, dedication, and invaluable contributions toward the growth, stability, and progress of HOSTCOM in Delta State.
We reaffirm our loyalty and continued support for their administration and commend them for their outstanding service to HOSTCOM in particular and Delta State in general.
We also urge all HOSTCOM members, stakeholders, host communities, and the general public to remain calm, law-abiding, and disregard any misinformation being circulated by unauthorized persons seeking to destabilize HOSTCOM Delta State Chapter for clandestine motives.
Relevant security and investigative agencies have been duly notified, and members of the public are advised to distance themselves from Mr. Paul Ebiyon and his dissident group, who is parading himself illegally as the Acting Chairman of HOSTCOM Delta State Chapter.
We wish to further state categorically that the dissident group lacks the locus standi to constitute any AGM Committee. When the time for a legitimate AGM comes, it shall be properly constituted by the duly recognized leadership of HOSTCOM Delta State Chapter.
HOSTCOM Delta State remains committed to peace, unity, stability, and the protection of the interests of all host communities across Delta State.
God bless HOSTCOM.
God bless Delta State.
