Mulade Denounces Fake Step down Concession Statement, Warns Perpetrators of Misinformation Campaign

 Frontline environmental rights activist and politician, Chief Sheriff Mulade, has strongly condemned a purported social media statement alleging that he conceded defeat and endorsed another aspirant following the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election for the Warri Federal Constituency, describing the publication as fake, fraudulent, and the handiwork of desperate political elements.

In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity of Team Chief Sheriff Mulade Campaign Organization, Comrade Friday Ugedi, the camp of the NDC primary election winner dismissed the circulating report as a calculated attempt to mislead party faithful and distort the outcome of the primary election.

The statement maintained that Chief Mulade never issued any communication indicating that he had stepped down from the race, withdrawn his candidacy, conceded defeat, or endorsed any other aspirant.

According to the campaign organization, the publication was fabricated by political opponents allegedly unsettled by what it described as Mulade's overwhelming and landslide victory during the NDC primary election.

"Our attention has been drawn to a fabricated and misleading statement currently circulating on social media, falsely claiming that Chief Sheriff Mulade conceded defeat and endorsed another aspirant in the Nigeria Democratic Congress primary election for the Warri Federal Constituency," the statement said.

"We wish to state categorically, unequivocally and without ambiguity that the said statement is fake, fraudulent, concocted and the handiwork of desperate individuals who have been rattled by the overwhelming victory recorded by Chief Sheriff Mulade during the primary election."

The campaign organization accused the authors of the publication of engaging in a deliberate misinformation campaign aimed at creating confusion within the party and manipulating public opinion after what it described as a rejection by delegates across the constituency.

Reaffirming Mulade's position, the statement stressed that he remains the duly elected winner of the NDC primary election for the Warri Federal Constituency and continues to enjoy widespread support among party members, delegates, youths, women, and stakeholders across the three constituent local government areas of Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West.

The organization expressed concern that certain disgruntled elements had allegedly resorted to forgery, propaganda, and the dissemination of false information instead of accepting the outcome of the democratic process.

"It is unfortunate that rather than accepting the reality of the outcome of the primary election, some disgruntled elements have chosen the path of forgery, propaganda and fake statements in a futile attempt to overturn the will of the people," the statement noted.

The campaign team therefore urged members of the public, party supporters, stakeholders, and media organizations to disregard the purported concession statement in its entirety, insisting that it neither emanated from Chief Mulade nor reflected the position of his political structure.

The statement further emphasized that Chief Mulade remains committed to democratic principles, transparency, fairness, and justice, expressing confidence that the authentic results of the primary election would withstand any scrutiny.

The campaign organization maintained that no amount of blackmail, misinformation, political propaganda, or desperation could invalidate the mandate freely given to Chief Mulade by delegates during the primary election.

"The victory remains intact, the mandate remains valid, and the aspiration remains firmly on course," the statement concluded.
